IFSCA Recognizes ICSI Guiding Principles on Stewardship
The International Financial Services Centres Authority (IFSCA) has officially recognized the ICSI Guiding Principles on Stewardship (IGPS), marking a significant milestone for corporate governance in India's international financial ecosystem.
Through a circular dated October 23, 2025, IFSCA introduced a new Framework on Stewardship Code in IFSC, aimed at strengthening investor protection and advancing corporate governance standards. The circular permits regulated entities in IFSCs to adopt either the stewardship code annexed to the circular or an alternative code issued by any financial sector regulator in India or abroad.
